With which teams would these guys be on?
One of the main reasons why the Indian Premier League has been so successful globally as a franchise cricket competition is because only Indian local players are allowed to participate in it. Pakistani athletes were formerly allowed to compete in this competition, but they were later excluded. As a result, it has become uncommon to see players from both sides together on the court.
As has always been the case, Indian players have not entered Pakistan’s inaugural event of a similar nature. But let’s get our fantasies going: which teams would some of the well-known Indian faces be best suited for if they played in this league?
Let’s examine the Indian cricket players and their flawless PSL matches:
Multan Sultans – Ravindra Jadeja
The Multan Sultans have good single-dimensional players who can perform their roles well. They are stacked with quality batsmen like Dawid Malan, Reeza Hendricks, Mohammad Rizwan, and Khushdil Shah. The bowling line-up has been well-managed by Reece Topley, Usama Mir, Shahnawaz Dahani, and Chris Jordan.
Due to his ability to support the team from all three positions—batting, bowling, and fielding—which the present squad lacks, Ravindra Jadeja may be a fantastic acquisition. In their lineup, their only all-rounders are David Willey and Iftikhar Ahmed.
Jasprit Bumrah – Zalmi of Peshawar
World-class bowler Jasprit Bumrah has abilities that very few people have. Bumrah can turn around any bowling attack by taking wickets at the beginning and end of the game while dominating the middle overs. Peshawar Zalmi appears to be a team in need of a lead pacer, which Bumrah can provide.
Sharma, Rohit – Karachi Kings
Another guy with a ton of experience captaining any team is Rohit Sharma. For the Karachi Kings, who have a strong team on paper but haven’t been able to translate it into success on the field, he can accomplish the same thing. He may also open the attack alongside Shan Masood.
The only thing the Karachi Kings lack is a confident skipper like Rohit Sharma. They have strong all-arounders, solid hitters, and a formidable bowling attack.
Islamabad United’s Virat Kohli
The best all-round players the PSL has to offer are most likely those on Islamabad United. Islamabad is happy with the middle order with Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Tom Curran, Faheem Ashraf, and Agha Salman, but they would prefer some stability at the top of the order.
Run-making at the top of the order can be handled with Virat Kohli’s consistency. Virat Kohli, Colin Munro, and Alex Hales would likely form the most attractive top three in this competition.
MS Dhoni – Gladiators of Quetta
Despite having one of the greatest skill pools in the competition, the Quetta Gladiators have struggled in recent seasons despite having a great mix of youthful explosiveness and experience. This squad has been experiencing a string of losses; MS Dhoni has the ability to change their fortunes.
Dhoni can lead the team and be the explosive finisher they have been waiting for because he has enough of cricket left in him. Observing Dhoni’s charisma in the Pakistan Super League will be intriguing.
