Rishabh Pant talked about the terrible vehicle accident that has prevented him from playing cricket for the past 13 months. It’s anticipated that he’ll return for the IPL 2024.
After being out for almost a year, Rishabh Pant is expected to return for the 2024 Indian Premier League. In December 2022, the wicketkeeper-batter was involved in a bone-chilling vehicle accident close to Roorkee, Uttarakhand. Pant suffered two cuts to his forehead and a torn ligament in his right knee as a result of the collision.
He hasn’t played competitive cricket since that incident. As he prepared for his anticipated return, Pant attended a DC camp in November and was present at the Delhi Capitals table during the IPL 2024 auction.
Pant recently discussed his accident in an interview with Star Sports. The 26-year-old said he felt his time on this earth was over and that he was fortunate it wasn’t worse.
“I felt for the first time in my life that my time on this planet was running out. I was conscious of my injuries at the time of the accident, but I was fortunate that they weren’t more severe. I had the impression that I had been saved. The doctor estimated that it would take 16 to 18 months for me to recuperate when I asked how long it would take. He said, “I realized I had to put in a lot of work to shorten this recuperation period.
The national team unit has been severely lacking Pant’s presence. A player of his caliber would have been crucial in the middle order if India had defeated Australia in the World Cup final. In Test cricket, India suffered their first-ever loss against England despite building a lead of over 100 runs at home. KS Bharat has been playing the wicketkeeper job in Test matches in his absence.
When he plays in the IPL in 2024, everyone will be watching him closely, especially because this year is also the T20 World Cup.
He also suffered abrasion injuries to his back and hurts his right wrist, ankle, and toe as a result of the event. Following his initial admission, he was sent to Max Hospital in Dehradun from Saksham Hospital, which is located close to New Delhi. It happened about 5:30 AM, and the automobile apparently skidded for about 200 meters before striking the central divider on the road, catching fire in the process.
