Cricket players sent their well wishes for Ram Mandir’s successful consecration ceremony, and some even showed there in person.
The Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Mandir was successfully held on Monday, January 22, and as a result, the entire country is rejoicing the return of Ram Lalla (Child Lord Ram) to Ayodhya. The rites to dedicate Lord Rama’s idol in the sanctum sanctorum were carried out by Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As the ceremony came to an end, congratulations for the historic occasion were sent in from all throughout India, as the whole nation rejoiced in the great achievement. Many former cricket players flew into the holy city of Ayodhya to take part in the historic event, and the cricketing fraternity also didn’t remain behind and joined the celebrations.
Legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who had been invited personally, confirmed his attendance and referred to the event as a “dream come true.” In addition to him, his family also made a trip to Ayodhya with the renowned wrist spinner Anil Kumble. Venkatesh Prasad, a former fast bowler, attended the religious ceremony as well. Mithali Raj, the former captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, also made her mark by posting pictures of herself alongside Saina Nehwal, a badminton player.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were unable to travel to Ayodhya
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was the only player from the current Indian cricket team to attend the event. He left the team India training camp in Hyderabad for a day to spend time with his wife in Ayodhya. Prominent cricket players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were also invited, but they did not show up.
While Kohli apparently skipped the training camp for a personal reason and will therefore also be unable to participate in the first two Tests of the series, captain Rohit Sharma was required to go. The dedication of Ram Mandir has been completed successfully, and the cricket community as a whole is celebrating this development. Many wishes are coming in from outside of India as well, as a few international players also sent congratulations on this momentous occasion. Some of the posts are as follows:
